Photos by Kon Markogiannis and a poem by Hermann Hesse

October

Red and yellow stand the trees

In their finest dress:

They will die a death of ease,

Knowing no distress.

Temper my heart’s heat,

Autumn, with a gentler beat.

Through gold days let it glide,

Finding wintertide.

(Hermann Hesse, translation by Timothy Adès)
